Cabin Project - Phase 2

This last weekend was our second trip to the cabin to make more progress on the flooring. Long hard work days for the men and Liz. The rest of us got to feed them and enjoy the children playing, exploring, catching frogs, etc...

(One of my favorite shots)

Kathy showed John that watching the water lands on your pants is fun

(The Happy Couple :)

(Kathy has looks for sure. "Mom, someday I will drive this ATV")

Tree climbers

Hans tiles the closet and the bathroom.

Tiled and sealed - not finished yet.

Jason sands the floor multiple times

Almost finished tile - just needs grouted.

Downstairs is now sanded and sealed ready for final finish next trip.

Upstairs is sanded. Sealing and finish to happen next trip.

Note- If any of you future house builders have flooring questions; don't hesitate to call. Even the choice of foundation can play a critical part. :)

  1. Wow! I didn't realize your "Cabin" was that nice (and obviously getting nicer). From the outside it looks quite rustically inviting. Now I know :D

  2. Oops, just read Part 1 (Why don't I go in order?) and realized that this is your dentist's cabin, not the Willow Creek Cabin I assumed it was. What a dork! (Um, not the dentist, me ;). So I guess I don't know after all! :P

    1. Hi Leah, I'm glad you caught that. You aren't a dork. I didn't post any pictures of the outside of their new cabin. I believe this new cabin isn't very "cabinish" at all; it's quite nice. It will be a great retirement/vacation home for them. The cabin that you see behind the kids in the tree is the old cabin where we all stay in the cosy four bedrooms with an open fireplace, very rustic indeed. You get to hear the critters running through the log walls at night. :)
Dad & Mom's Willow Creek house (aka the project house) is a completely different story. It has a great pool for us to use in the summer.
Once again, it's nice to hear from you.
